Culture for a zloty for people with disabilities

We encourage you to participate in a new program developed by the Masovian Voivodeship government, "Support for People with Disabilities in Masovia." The project aims to facilitate the participation of people with disabilities in Masovian cultural institutions and increase their participation in social life. The program is aimed at residents of the Masovian Voivodeship.

Culture for a zloty for people with disabilities

We are pleased to announce that the Disability Support Program in Masovia will continue in 2026. On December 23, 2025, the Masovian Voivodeship Board adopted Resolution No. 1492/49/24, which allows people with disabilities and their caregivers to continue to benefit from Masovian cultural institutions on preferential terms.

The program will run from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

People with disabilities, regardless of age or disability, can benefit from the preferential ticket price (PLN 1 gross). However, this must be confirmed by a disability ID. The guardian accompanying the person will pay the same price for the ticket. Each person must be a resident of the Masovian Voivodeship, which must be confirmed by submitting a declaration to the cultural institution.

People with disabilities can choose from 28 cultural institutions run by the Mazovia local government. The program's offer applies only to the institution's own initiatives (excluding occasional projects). Before purchasing a ticket, please review the cultural institution's offer on its website and verify its availability based on your individual needs. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or through the website of the chosen cultural institution. However, before purchasing a ticket online, please contact the institution by phone or email to confirm the offer.

Workshops

Each category will be accompanied by a tour of the exhibitions located in the MCSW "Elektrownia" facility, followed by workshops related to the exhibition themes:

Art Workshops

This offer is designed for organized groups (max. 20 people). During the workshops, we learn about cooperation between able-bodied people and people with disabilities. The starting point for each class is contemporary art, which, in our philosophy, is no longer just an object of admiration for artistic craftsmanship, but also becomes an important component in building relationships between institution staff and visitors.
•    Graphic Design
In a safe and concentration-friendly atmosphere, participants, under the guidance of an instructor, create artwork using one of four available graphic design techniques. The technique can be selected based on the level of complexity and technical requirements. We offer classes in the following techniques: legoprint, stamp, gelprint, and linocut. The classes ensure the development of manual dexterity, concentration, and a handmade graphic print.
•    Poster
Using mixed art techniques, participants create a poster for an event or product of their own invention. The classes aim to develop manual dexterity. An important element of the activity is drawing attention to the social context of posters, which serve many different functions through their appearance in public spaces. •    Abstraction
Abstract art is one of the most barrier-free and limitless forms known to culture. The freedom to use simple elements, color, and shape leads to a sense of liberation from established patterns and frameworks. During the classes, through artistic play and the expression of forms and colors, participants will have the opportunity to verbalize their thoughts using abstract means of expression.
•    Spatial Forms
The aim of the classes is to enhance the sense of touch, which, in the creation of spatial forms, is a tool not only for perception but also for creation. Using plaster or soft materials (sponge, yarn, potato flour), participants will create three-dimensional objects that can be taken home.

Art and Sensory Workshops

A series of classes held in small groups and lasting 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the participants' abilities. Caregivers should be present in the room with their students during the classes; active adult participation in all activities is welcome. Workshops will most often take place in the exhibition halls, and the topics will be related to the current exhibition of works at the MCSW Elektrownia. The tasks, primarily manual, will develop fine and gross motor skills, stimulate sight and touch. Participants will explore various textures and textures while playing with clay, as well as the color palette and principles of creating compositions both in space and on paper using various media and artistic means of expression. Together, we will learn what a work of art is, what it can be made of, and how to understand selected concepts from ancient and contemporary art. All exercises will be adapted to the age and abilities of the participants, based on the questionnaire attached with the group registration. The aim of the classes is to support the development of the senses, hand coordination, strengthen relationships with peers, and learn how to work individually and collaboratively.

Movement and Dance Workshops

The aim of these workshops is to familiarize people with disabilities with art through movement and dance activities in the space of the Mazovian Center for Contemporary Art "Elektrownia." Dance and movement among the works allow for a natural and personal experience of art that is not presented in an academic manner, and the combination of movement makes the paintings and exhibits feel pleasant. Dance is a form of physical activity that has an extremely positive impact on the human condition, effectively reducing stress, and positively impacting our well-being. During the sessions, we offer:
- rhythmic exercises
- verticalization exercises
- learning unique steps and dances (e.g., disco dance, rock and roll, cha-cha, English waltz, Viennese waltz).
- movement coordination exercises
- choreography
Classes are held in cycles – four times a month – and will be led by a qualified instructor, a category "S" trainer. Active participation of group leaders in all activities is welcome.

The program runs from July 15, 2023.

Information and registration by phone: 884 320 030.
